Now You can also get Verified Badge for your Twitter

Micro-blogging platform, Twitter has announced today that it has created a new application process and started taking verification status requests again.

In case you don’t know about it, Twitter verification gives you a little blue symbol with a white checkmark.

It’s designed to verify the authenticity of an account who otherwise might be subject to parody and fake accounts attempting to trick users into believing theirs is the real one.

Twitter started account verification back in 2009 and typically this includes accounts maintained by public figures and organizations in music, TV, film, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business, and other key interest areas.

Twitter currently has close to 187,000 verified accounts but more and more people and businesses are looking to get this verified badge, which doesn’t change how you use Twitter but only adds the authenticity factor.

We want to make it even easier for people to find creators and influencers on Twitter so it makes sense for us to let people apply for verification.
